I’ve read some reviews where the bottom was coming off.Mine did because of the wind knocking it against the shepherd hook so I just hung mine out a little farther from it.My birds always go to the yankee droll vs the other feeders.I’m glad I bought it!

However, when I moved the Flipper further away from the upright pole the squirrels were defeated by the Bird Feeder. The squirrels can get on top of it, but they cannot safely descend to the bottom to get at the nuts inside. From tooth marks on the lid of the Flipper I guess that In frustration they have attempted to gnaw through the top. Now the squirrels, clever as they are, seem to have decided they won't be successful in trying to get at the nuts in the Flipper and they seem to have given up trying. They now forage on the ground beneath the Flipper for any morsels dropped by the birds.
